Summer definitely arrived in Cincinnati! We had temperatures well above 90 all week, so I had the challenge of finding ways to beat the heat while my niece and nephew visited last week. They wanted to go to a water park, but they had gone while visiting one of their other aunts a few weeks ago, and I wanted to give them a different experience! I knew I had found the perfect place with Aqua Adventures at Land of Illusion in Middletown, Ohio.
Aqua Adventures is an inflatable obstacle course and “beach” that kept my teenager and tweenager entertained for hours! Think American Ninja Warrior but on water, and the payoff is a giant slide or jump from a platform into the water! We ran across narrow, slippery beams; swung from monkey bars; and climbed up inflated “rocks” – well, they did, I mostly just fell in the water and swam to the next part of the obstacle course!
Aqua Adventures is more than just the obstacle course though. They have yard games, like horseshoes and cornhole, and an area for paddle boarding, all included in the price of admission. The water is surrounded by a man-made beach, and we spent some time just playing catch in the water. We had so much fun, and easily could’ve spent the entire day playing there.
Land of Illusion offers seasonal entertainment – a Haunted Scream Park in the Fall and Christmas Glow with a 1.5 mile drive thru light display during the holidays. We’ll definitely come back for those!
